Since that time he has seen or listened to most games the first memorable game being the 1962 State Championship game played by many of his childhood heroes, Bill played football and baseball during all his high school years. Certainly not a star he terms himself as a “contributor.” It was witnessing all those games in younger years, the experiences of being a player and the thrill watching his son hold a championship trophy that inspired “The Ghosts in Blue.” An Admiral family, Kathy Brown Ruth was a member of the first Lady Admirals Golf Team. Their children Brian, Ben and Liz all had distinguished careers as Admirals playing baseball, softball, golf, football and soccer.
