Where Will The Money Go?
We are fortunate to have a superintendent, high school principal and athletic
director who are all Ghosts in Blue and who understand the positive impact
athletics has on students while in school and throughout life.
They also understand that at Danville High School a successful football program is
the bedrock for success in other areas both athletic and academic. Our administration is all in and is taking care of many areas that have been previously ignored, including a $250,000 renovation of Admiral Stadium and improvements to other facilities. Obviously, they will continue to fund the
operating expenses of the program. Funding from the Ghosts in Blue Foundation will contribute to other items that are needed but may not fall within the state guidelines for school funding. Coach Stonebraker has provided a schedule of
items that are needed and following are some of those items:
-
Cameras to allow recording of games and practices (remember we don’t play where we practice)
-
Headphones for coaches – current ones do not work
-
Travel equipment bags – current ones are 20 years old and there are not enough for each player
-
Travel attire for players and coaches
-
Player nutrition program
-
Potential Foundation sponsorship of the Pigskin Classic Bowl game
Some may view these as luxury items, but in today’s world of drones, sideline IPads and scouting techniques, these are necessities and the need is immediate.
The cost of just the items listed, and there are more, would approach $50,000.
